All Empires

All Empires (or AE) is an online history community founded in 2001 as an academic venture by Cyrus Shahmiri, who is from Iran. It was first created as a forum for the discussion of Iranian history but later expanded, as it got more popular, with the help of history teachers, writers and enthusiasts to promote historical knowledge. As a web community for world history, AE has grown to be a popular online forum with a diverse international audience and membership. AE also provides webspace, contacts and research information for a number of academic research projects and contains a collection of articles contributed by its forum members.

The whole AE site is privately owned. AE promotes paid advertising, links to pay sites, and demands financial contributions from users.

AE is a community programmed, administered, maintained and controlled entirely by contributors.

AE Magazine

AE Magazine or All Empires Magazine is a community project and part of the AE Site. AE Magazine was started in January 2006 to address two problems which came to light after several years of running the project: the lack of general historical knowledge of people with an interest in contributing to the historical field, and the narrow spectrum of many people's knowledge of history.

The magazine attracts a range of writers from around the world, both established and new, reflected in the diversity of its content. The magazine concentrates on less known areas of history. It also acts as a front window to an archive of several hundred original articles submitted by writers both experienced and new, and is maintained by an expert staff to provide freely available research material for history students.
