North Chungcheong Province,South Korea .It is the birthplace of
UN Secretary-General,Ban Ki-moon .There are many farmers and wonderful people living in Eumseong. They host two cultural festivals in the spring and fall: the Poombah (traditional vagabond) Festival in the spring and the Goochu Chookjeh (Chili Pepper Appreciation) Festival in the fall. Eumseong is famous in Korea for its production of quality red chili peppers.
Aside from chili peppers, Eumseongites are also renown for their strawberries, ginseng, watermelon, and beef production. There is a fantastic pork barbecue restaurant in Eumseong city named Seok Ki Shi Deh that has rotating grills over hot coals. There is also a great Bongtigee seller next to the main bus terminal in Eumseong city. Every five days of the month is market day in Eumseong city. If you go, you can experience a true Korean farmers market.
GVCS , an English-speaking Christian boarding school is located in Eumseong Township near the birthplace of Ban Ki Moon.Modern history
