Pljeskavica ( _sr. пљескавица) or Pleskavica ( _mk. плескавица) is a
hamburger dish popular in most of theBalkans .Pljeskavica is eaten in
Serbia , Macedonia, Bosnia,Croatia andMontenegro and can be found inSlovenia ,Hungary ,Romania ,Bulgaria . Traditional pljeskavica was made from a mixture of lamb or pork and beef, grilled with onions and served hot on freshsomun with a thickpita bread.Recently, pljeskavica has gained popularity in
Europe and is served at many fast-food restaurants, mainly inGermany andAustria . It is often served withkaymak orajvar and sometimesurnebes .Macedonian pleskavica is usually made of beef, grilled with onions and served hot on a fresh
lepinje . There are however, many other ways of serving it such asŠarska andAjdučka . Šarska pleskavica is made of beef and stuffed withkashkaval .
