Pinetree Secondary School is a high school in School District 43 Coquitlam. It is located in Coquitlam, British Columbia, and has an enrollment of about 1300. Pinetree offers its students a variety of school-time and extra-curricular activities.

Academics

Pinetree excels academically and consistently as well and is rated in the top 50 of Canadian high schools and has one of the best math teams in British Columbia, it is the best in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

Athletic Department

Pinetree also excels athletically, notably in badminton, tennis, and girls volleyball. In the 2006-2007 year, Pinetree's grade 9 basketball team were the provincial champions, while Pinetree's Junior tennis team were the Fraser Valley champions. Arts

Pinetree has a thriving fine arts department. Offering a range of musical opportunities such as Junior/Senior Concert Band, Junior/Senior Jazz Band, Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz/Show Choir. Courses such as Musical Composition and Guitar are also offered. Concerts are held throughout the year commending every student in the department's ability to work hard on whatever instrument they may play or however they may sing. Different concerts include the annual Ensembles Night, Fall/Winter/Spring Concerts, and Final concerts. There is also an awards ceremony for the department alone congratulating students for a job well done during the duration of that year they were in the department.

Adding on to the fine arts department of Pinetree, Drama is also offered. Students may choose to participate in the course and expand their horizons on their performance ability by participating in school plays. The shows are well played and planned boasting a pit band, singing/dancing performances, audience interaction and great plot-lines which appeal to both young and old.
