Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln

Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln (Latin: "Dioecesis Lincolnensis") is a Roman Catholic diocese in Nebraska, and comprises the majority of the eastern and central portions of the state south of the Platte River. It was founded on August 2, 1887, by Pope Leo XIII. [ [http://www.dioceseoflincoln.org/ Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln Home Page] ]

The diocese is considered one of the more "orthodox" or "conservative" (depending on viewpoint) dioceses in the United States, due mostly to Bishop Bruskewitz's policies.
