Cold Fire (product)

Cold Fire (product)

Cold Fire is a fire extinguisher product manufactured by Fire Freeze Worldwide, Inc, on the market since 1991.

Cold Fire™ works to remove heat and the fuel sources from the fire triangle. The suppressants in Cold Fire™ use water as a catalyst to remove the heat as well as encapsulate and break down the hydrocarbons in the fuel source to extinguish the fire more rapidly.

Cold Fire is rated for Class A, B, D & K fires, UL 2N75. It is an accepted fire fighting agent for the US Forestry Service, and is part of their Qualified Products List. It is QPL-approved for fixed-wing airtanker and single engine airtanker (SEAT) applications, and is the only water enhancer approved for fixed-tank helicopter application. It can be applied by helicopters with Bambi buckets, used in pumping stations along firelines, and poured directly in brush truck tanks.

Cold Fire extinguishes fires (even oil and alcohol-based fires) quickly and on contact. It is effective on oil well and tanker fires, tire fires, fuel/ethanol fires, grass, brush and forest fires, and metal fires (including magnesium and aluminum)

Completely biodegradable, it is non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-irritating (ocular and epidermal). It is on the EPA's Significantly New Alternative Program list, and is an accepted alternative to Halon 1211.

It is available in varying sizes, from 12 oz pressurized cans to 55 gallon drums, and can be added to the booster tank of fire trucks, or inducted like foam, depending on how the fire truck is equipped.
