The Carnival Fantasy is the lead
Fantasy class cruise ship forCarnival Cruise Lines . She currently sails on four and five day itineraries toCozumel fromNew Orleans ,Louisiana . She went into service in1990 , and was initially based out of thePort of Miami . Due to the oil spill on theMississippi River near theCrescent City Connection bridge on July 23, 2008, the Carnival Fantasy has been homeported inMobile, Alabama until it goes into a 28 day drydock for it's "Evolutions of Fun" upgrades. After the drydock, Carnival Fantasy will be again homeported in New Orleans. On January 28, 2008 Carnival Cruise Lines announced that Carnival Fantasy will go into drydock in the Fall of 2008 and will be the third ship to receive the full Evolutions of Fun upgrade that her sister ships
