The Doo Wop All Stars

The Doo Wop All Stars

The Doo Wop All Stars was formed in 1992, as one of the first "supergroups" in to the doo wop musical genre, taking individual members from their respective groups and putting them together to form another. "It's a show within a show," remarked Bobby Jay, WCBS FM lontime D.J.

Original Lineup included:

* Art Loria - Belmonts, Larry Chance and the Earls
* Vito Balsamo - Vito and the Salutations
* Randy Silver -
* Eugene Pitt - The Jive Five -
* Lenny Welch

All members have been solo artists or in musical acts listed in past Billboard Magazine song placements. Later additions included Bernard Jones from the Dubs, Harold Gilly from the Covairs, Freddy Scott, and John Martelli.

The group released a single called "A Drifting Medley," which became a favorite in the Pittsburgh area and was featured on Porky Chadwick's Weekly Radio Broadcast Porky Chadwick,placing No. 3 on the hit list.

Each member is an inductee into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and each member and associated group appeared in "Doo Wop 50," which was broadcasted on Public Broadcasting System stations nationwide and was one of the top listed money earners for PBS.

The group continues to perform and record.
