In July 1995, Nipper returned to the big leagues as the pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox which lasted until April 1996. On
November 17 ,2005 , Nipper again returned to the big leagues when he was named bullpen coach of the Red Sox. With pitching coach Dave Wallace's health problems, he has been named the Red Sox's interim pitching coach.Nipper graduated from Hazelwood West High School in Hazelwood, MO and
