Scarsdale High School (SHS) is a public high school in Scarsdale, New York, founded in 1917. SHS is considered as one of America's finest high schools. From the graduating class of 2007, 99.1% continued their education with college programs, and 96.7% entered 127 different four-year national and international colleges and universities. 20 students in the class of '08 (5.4%) were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, and 35 (9.6%)students received National Merit Letters of commendation.

Currently in 2007-08, SHS has a professional staff of 163 with a 18 years median teaching experience. 98% of the faculty holds a Masters; 71% has 30 credits or more beyond a Masters; 10% has Doctorate Degrees. The student faculty ratio is 9.2 to 1. Scarsdale high school is one of the finest school in the country but you have to live there and be rich to get in. Most of the teachers are in their early 50's, and the teachers have one of the highest paying salaries in the country (44% had a base-salary of over $100,000 in 2005). SHS is part of the District-wide "green" initiative to learn about and model sustainability. The high school is also making a switch from AP's to AT's.
