Birmingham ,England , created in 2004 from much of the old Sparkhill ward. It is a part of the formal district ofHall Green .Places of interest
The area is served by the grand [http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/sparkhilllibrary Sparkhill Library] that has, with its distinctive clock tower, developed into a local landmark. It was built in 1900 as the council house for the Yardley District Council. The building was converted into a library and opened on
January 19 ,1923 . It is one of the earliest examples ofdouble glazing windows in a public building. Demographics
The 2001 Population Census found that 29,198 people were living in the ward. 66.0% (19,268) of the population consisted of ethnic minorities compared with 29.6% for Birmingham in general.
The area is a densely populated inner-city area with many major economic and social problems.
