The 36th Infantry Division was a Second World War British Army formation created from the Indian Army 36th Infantry Division during the campaign in Burma.

History

As an Indian Army division it was created on December 15 1942 and converted to a British Army division on September 1 1944 . It fought in the Burma Campaign toward the end of World War II , taking part in the Battles for Mandalay (February 12 to March 21 1945 ) and the Rangoon Road (April 1 to May 6 1945 ) .
