Bitty McLean

Bitty McLean

Bitty McLean (born in Birmingham, England) is a British/Jamaican reggae and ragga music artist. McLean was originally a tea boy for UB40 and got his big break whilst with his fellow Brummies. He has since worked with them on various projects as a professional musician.

He was most popular around the mid 1990s with cover songs including The Shirelles' "Dedicated to the One I Love" (UK #6) and Fats Domino's "It Keeps Rainin (Tears from My Eyes)" (1993), which was his biggest UK hit, peaking at #2.

In 2004, he released "On Bond Street", using rare Tommy McCook and Duke Reid produced Treasure Isle instrumentals from the rocksteady era but overlaid with new lyrics - either his own or sourced from other songs, most notably David Ruffin's "Walk Away From Love" and David Gates' "Make It With You". He recorded a new studio album in autumn 2007 at studios in Kingston, Jamaica with Sly and Robbie. McLean also has released two other songs, "Nothing Can Change This Love", and "Forever Be Mine."
