Naked Records

Naked Records

This article is wrong. Naked Records was in fact set up in 1988 by James Reed, who was part of Indie band Those Disposable Things. Two singles were released in 1988, the first was a double 'A' side single; Sweet Leila/Out Of The Question. The second single was called Away Days, which was accompanied by a video made by members of The Shamen. Those Disposable Things were James Reed (bass guitar & vocals), Simon Berridge (guitars and vocals), and Mark Fellowes (drums). They were a critically acclaimed 3 piece. Their total number of live gigs comprised one show in Brussells, Belgium to support the single Away Days which was a huge radio hit there. Naked Records was a mid-1990s independent record label that was set up by former Curiosity Killed The Cat members Nick Thorp and Migi Drummond, and featured the indie rock band Velvet Jones. The company was formed in 1995 and was acquired by software company Eidos in 1996, with Thorp and Drummond staying on in their roles as company directors.

After being acquired by Eidos, Naked worked on a theme tune for Tomb Raider produced by Dave Stewart and Boby Bluebell. The theme tune was never released after rejections from the management of Core Design.
