Max Fleischer animatedcartoon series distributed throughParamount Pictures . Gabby was the town crier in the1939 animated feature "Gulliver’s Travels" produced by Fleischer. Paramount and Fleischer saw fit to give Gabby his ownTechnicolor cartoon series, nine entries of which were produced between1940 and1941 . Gabby was voiced byPinto Colvig , the voice ofWalt Disney ’sGoofy .The "Gabby" cartoons were sold to
U.M.&M. T.V. Corp. in1955 , which later became part ofNational Telefilm Associates , which becameRepublic Pictures , and was then sold to Paramount's current parentViacom in 1999. Today, the Gabby cartoons are owned byCBS Paramount Television (for television release) and original distributor Paramount (for theatrical and home entertainment distribution). However, most Gabby cartoons can be found in faded public domain television prints, usually featuringNational Telefilm Associates openings.Filmography
