Past_members =Gran Coquivacoa, is a Venezuelan gaita zuliana group founded in 1968, by Jesús "Bocachico" Petit, Nelson Suárez, Rody Tigrera, Pedro Arteaga and Manolo Salazar, at the Ambrosio district of
Cabimas ,Zulia state). In the 1969 season Nelson Martínez enters to the group, becoming the leader singer in the 1960s and 1970s, with his "tamboreras", and "gaitones", like "El Gran Gaitón" (1969), "Tamborera 7" (1975), "Tamborera 9" (1977), "Los Vasallos", "La Traidora" (1976), "Gaita a Tambora", and many others.In 1975,
Neguito Borjas enters to Gran Coquivacoa, in the 1978 season composed "Sin Rencor", one of the most popular gaitas ever writed.
