He earned a B.S. in 1948, and a Doctor of Engineering degree in 1960, from
Tohoku University . In 1953, he joined Research Institute of Electrical Communication, at Tohoku University, where he was eventually named Professor and was appointed Director of Research Institute of Electrical Communication.Awards and honors
Nishizawa is a Life Fellow of the
IEEE . He is a Fellow of several other institutions, including thePhysical Society , theRussian Academy of Sciences , and thePolish Academy of Sciences . He received the IEEEEdison Medal in 2000. IEEE has foundedJun-ichi Nishizawa Medal in 2002.External links
