Thomas James Conaty (August 1, 1847 - September 18, 1915) was the Bishop of the Diocese of Monterey-Los Angeles (now the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles) from 1903-1915.

Bishop Conaty was born in the town of Kilnaleck in Ireland. He was ordained a priest in December 1872. He became the rector of The Catholic University of America (CUA) in 1896 and was ordained a bishop in 1901, remaining with the University until his appointment as head of the Diocese of Monterey-Los Angeles in March 1903.

CUA's Conaty Hall, a popular freshman residence hall, is named after him.

Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto High School in Los Angeles, California also bears his name.
