Pathari

Pathari

Pathari is a formerly princely state of India, administratively under the Bhopal Agency subdivision of the Central India Agency. The state covered an area of 78 square kilometers and had a population of 6,293 in 1892.

Pathari's Muslim royal house was founded in 1794 by a Pashtun of the Barakzai faction from Afghanistan, who rose through the ranks of the Mughal Empire. The rulers of Pathari were styled “Nawab”:

After Indian independence in 1947, the rulers of Pathari acceded to the Union of India, and the former state was incorporated into the new state of Madhya Bharat, which subsequently became Madhya Pradesh state on November 1, 1956.
