|The Syracuse Stars are a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team from Syracuse, New York. This hockey team was a part of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League and the Metro Junior A Hockey League, but now resides in the Eastern Junior Hockey League.

History

In 1996, the Syracuse Jr. Crunch were founded to play Canadian Tier II Junior A in the Metro Junior A Hockey League. In 1998, they joined the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. In 2005, the team was sold in renamed to the Syracuse Stars, while the old owner kept the team's OPJHL franchise rights and founded the Oswego Admirals (who moved to Toronto, Ontario in 2007). In 2005, the Stars joined the Eastern Junior Hockey League.

In 1998-99, the Crunch played out of Auburn, New York.

Now known as the Stars, the team now plays American Tier II Junior A in the Eastern Junior Hockey League. The Crunch/Stars franchise has had a long running farm team in the Empire Junior Hockey League at the Junior B level.
