Congress of Jalisco

The Congress of the State of Jalisco is the legislative branch of the government of the State of Jalisco. The Congress is the governmental deliberative body of Jalisco, which is equal to, and independent of, the executive.

The Congress consist of 40 local deputies; half of them are elected via first-past-the-post systems and the other half via proportional representation. Deputies are elected to serve for a three-year tearm. Since its installation the congress has been renewed 57 times.
