St. Mark's High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic high school located at 2501 Pike Creek Road, Wilmington, Delaware. The school is administrated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington. The current enrollment is approximately 1,600. The mission statement of the school is as follows;

"Saint Mark’s is a Diocesan Catholic high school that educates young men and women to be leaders of the church and the world whose faith in God and service to others model excellence, humility, and integrity."

Background

It was founded in 1967 by the then Bishop of Wilmington, Michael W Hyle. The school was intended to serve the cultural and educational needs of Catholic adults and youth in the Diocese of Wilmington. Construction continued through 1970.

Academic program

Saint Mark's provides an educational program for students of multiple ability levels with five levels of academic programs in most subject areas. These levels are known as "phases" with one being the lowest phase and five being Honors. Saint Mark's provides the largest number of offerings in the College Board's Advanced Placement Program of any high school in Delaware.

98.5% of the SMHS Class of 2006 will be attending a college or university, one third of which will attend the in-state University of Delaware.
