Lulu Coltrane Hogg

Lulu Coltrane Hogg is a fictional character on the American television series "The Dukes of Hazzard" played by Peggy Rea.

Lulu is Boss Hogg's wife, and Rosco's "fat sister", making Boss and Rosco brothers-in-law. Boss and Lulu are childless and live in a large mansion in Hazzard County. Like Boss, Lulu is overweight and has a voracious appetite. She is most often seen wearing muumuus and is known to frequently indulge in such dishes as large pizzas, fried chicken, blueberry pies, and her cherished chocolate bon bons.

Lulu constantly challenges her husband for authority and rallies for equality for women in Hazzard. Unlike Boss, Lulu is friends with the Duke family. She often acts as Boss's moral conscience, something that often grates him.

Boss, while apprehensive to trust her, and while scheming behind her back at all times, seems to genuinely love Lulu, and even frequently calls her by petnames, such as "Angel Food Cake", "Marshmallow", "Sugarplum Puddin'", and "Chick-a-Bitty."

Lulu in "Dukes" sequels

In the "'Dukes of Hazzard" sequels which reunited the survivng members of the original cast, Rea did not return to her original role as Lulu. The character is not referred to in this series, and her fate is unknown.

Lulu is not a character in the "2005 theatrical release".

Sherilyn Fenn portrayed Lulu in the 2007 movie "". One trait that is consistent with the TV series character is that she has a short patience with her husband's crooked schemes (although she remains loyal to him). However, there were two major differences with Lulu in "The Beginning": She was slim and proper weight for her size (instead of obese); and she was a sex-craving seductress who tried to make advances on the younger Luke. On the original TV series, the only object of her affections was her husband. In addition, Lulu is decidedly younger in "The Beginning" (perhaps her late 30s) than the 50s-something Lulu seen on the TV series.
