Dallas, Texas , the daughter of a schoolteacher, and was a graduate ofJustin F. Kimball High School . She is also a graduate of the theatre department ofSouthern Methodist University . She was a regular on the long-running ABC series "Perfect Strangers " from 1986 to 1992, playing the role of Edwina Twinkacetti and later syndicated advice columnist Lydia Markham. She lives with her husband, son, pet monkey Auriel, and Leo, a big golden retriever.More recently she played "Benny Lopez" on "George Lopez" from 2002 to 2007. She has also appeared in many films in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
She has also done many works as an acting coach and acting consultant in
