The
Toyota Sports Center (formerlyHealthSouth Training Center) is a practice facility for theLos Angeles Lakers ,Los Angeles Sparks , and theLos Angeles Kings , located on 555 North Nash Street inEl Segundo, California . The $24 million facility broke ground on April 28, 1999 and officially opened in March 5, 2000 as theHealthSouth Training Center.The facility is located on the grounds of the Grand Avenue Corporate Center. The facility includes two public ice rinks (NHL size and Olympic size), an outdoor in-line skating rink, a basketball court, and a restaurant. In addition, the property houses complete training facilities, including locker rooms and office space for the Kings, Lakers and Sparks. The facility's two public ice rinks hosts several amateur and youth hockey leagues throughout the year. One million guests pass through the doors of the facility annually. It serves as the home ice for the UCLA ice hockey team.
It is also an important training center for elite figure skaters, with
Frank Carroll as head coach. Skaters who have trained at this rink includeMichelle Kwan ,Timothy Goebel ,Evan Lysacek , andBeatrisa Liang .The facility can be easily accessed by the Metro Green Line near the
El Segundo/Nash Station and theMariposa/Nash Station .The
