Monster Girl is a fictional character, a comic book superhero in the Image Comics title Invincible.[1]

Fictional character biography

A bright young student Monster Girl was set to graduate high school at a young age. But while on her senior trip to Europe she fell in love with a young gypsy boy. Because she disapproved the relationship, the boy's grandmother cast a curse on the girl. It wasn't until she was on the plane ride home did the girl discover the effects, hiding in the lavatory while her body changed. After learning to control her changes she put them to use as the hero Monster Girl.[2]

After many transformations Monster Girl noticed that her monster forms were becoming larger but her human form was growing younger. Upset by her condition and her inability to stop it she began to use her powers recklessly uncaring of the price. When Monster Girl arrived at the Guardians of the Globe tryouts she had the mind of a 29 year old but the body of a 14 year old. After gaining membership and proving her worth Robot commits himself to finding a cure for her affliction.

When Monster Girl joined the Guardians of the Globe she befriended her teammate Robot. After his change to his new body, whose younger form was more age appropriate, the two grew even closer. Because of her friendship with Robot he began working on her aging problem. After a series of failed attempts Robot, using his intelligence, discovers the problem with her transformations and builds her a belt that corrects her transformations and solves her de-aging problem, seemingly allowing her to transform into her Monster form and revert back to her human form without de-aging.[3]

Powes and abilities

As the result of a curse, Monster Girl has the power to transform into a large, powerful monster who is superhumanly strong and durable. Another side effect of the curse occurred every time Monster Girl transformed. Every time she transforms from monster to human an error occurs in the bodies reconstruction and she comes back a little younger. On the other hand, every time she changes from human to monster form, her monster self is larger and stronger than before. This problem has been fixed by a special belt made for Monster Girl by her teammate Robot.

As an attempt to circumvent the problem of her aging for a time Monster Girl wore the vacant armor of Black Samson. This armor increased her strength, sported powerful projectile weapons and was capable of self sustained flight. It was destroyed during the confrontation with the being Omnipotus.[4]
