Ace Records Ltd. was started in 1981 as a separate company from
Swift Records Ltd. thelimited company trading asChiswick Records . The company is not connected to Ace Records out of Mississippi but the company did gain permission to use the name in the UK. Over the years Ace acquired the rights ofFantasy Records ,Stax Records ,Specialty Records andVanguard Records . In the 1980s it also gained the licensing forModern Records [http://www.acerecords.co.uk/content.php?page_id=67] , and its follow up companyKent Records , whilst in the 90's, the company bought the label(s) including all the master tapes, shipping them to their own vaults for secure storage [http://www.acerecords.co.uk/content.php?page_id=67] .
