Cathy Overton-Clapham (born
July 19 ,1969 inWinnipeg, Manitoba as Cathy Overton; nicknamed "Cathy O") is a Canadian curler. She currently plays third for Jennifer Jones' rink.In 1989, Overton-Clapham skipped Team Manitoba to a
Canadian Junior Curling Championships win. This qualified her for the 1990World Junior Curling Championships , which she won a bronze medal for Canada. Overton-Clapham had been to one other Canadian Junior Championship, having played third forJanet Harvey in 1986.1991 was Overton-Clapham's first trip to the
Scott Tournament of Hearts , Canada's national women's curling championship. She played third forKathie Allardyce and the team finished with a 5-6 record.In 1995 Overton-Clapham, returned to the Hearts, this time as a third for
Connie Laliberte . The team won the Hearts that year, and went on to win the silver medal at theWorld Curling Championships , losing toSweden 'sElisabet Gustafson in the final. Overton-Clapham would also play at the 1996 and 1999 Hearts for Laliberte, finishing third both times.In 2000, Overton-Clapham skipped her own team to the Hearts, and she finished in third place. She would return again to the Hearts in 2005, but as a third for Jennifer Jones. At the
2005 Scott Tournament of Hearts , the team won the championship, defeatingJenn Hanna of Ontario in the final. The team would go on to finish fourth at the2005 World Women's Curling Championship . The team returned to the2006 Scott Tournament of Hearts as Team Canada, but they lost in the final toKelly Scott of British Columbia. At the2007 Scotties Tournament of Hearts , the team lost the semi-final. At the2008 Scotties Tournament of Hearts , Overton-Clapham won another national title.When not curling, Cathy owns a business called Flatlander Flooring.
