Amtosaurus

"Amtosaurus" (IPAEng|ˌɑmtəˈsɔrəs; Kurzanov & Tumanova, 1978) was a genus of dinosaur based upon a fragmentary skull collected from the Upper Cretaceous Bayanshiree Svita Formation (Cenomanian-Santonian) of Mongolia and originally believed to represent an ankylosaurid. However, these fossils appear to have actually belonged to a hadrosaur and are indeterminate. Hence, Parish & Barrett (2004) declared the taxon a "nomen dubium". A second species assigned to the genus, "A. archibaldi", has become the basis of a valid anklyosaurid taxon, "Bissektipelta".
