"And She Was" is the name of a rock song from the 1985 Talking Heads album "Little Creatures" written by David Byrne. According to Byrne, the song was written about a girl he knew who used to take LSD in a field next to a Yoo-hoo beverage factory in Baltimore, Maryland. It reached number 54 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number 17 on the British singles chart.

* "And She Was" was parodied on Sesame Street in 1989 under the title "Beginning Middle and End". Influenced by David Byrne, the animated segment was made by Sally Cruikshank which explains how a story is put together beginning, middle, and end with the help of the main character, Seymour.
