History
CJTT was originally launched in
1967 at 1230 kHz on the AM band as a semi-satellite station of CJKL. The station was originally owned by Kirkland Lake Broadcasting Ltd. CJTT was a CBC affiliate from 1987-1996. Connelly Communications Corporation purchased CJTT and CJKL in Kirkland Lake in 1985. In 1998, CJTT moved from 1230 AM to its current FM frequency at 104.5 FM. CJTT FM hosts a series of community events including The Christmas Wish program for needy children and The Spooktacular Halloween program. In addition, CJTT FM presents the CJTT FM Citizen of the Year award and CJTT FM Lifetime Achievement award each year at the local Chamber of Commerce annual dinner.
