Leadenham

Leadenham is a village in North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, bypassed to the south in 1995 by the A17. [ [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/390388 A17 goes by Leadenham] at geograph.org.uk] It is on the A607 between Welbourn and Fulbeck, on the beginnings of the "Lincoln Cliff".

The church is St Swithun's. [ [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/101666 St. Swithin's church, Leadenham, Lincs] at geograph.org.uk] The village pub is the "Willoughby Arms", and there is the "George Hotel" on High Street (A607). [ [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/238032 The George Hotel, Leadenham] at geograph.org.uk] Prince Charles, similar to other RAF officer cadets, often called in at the pub when at nearby RAF Cranwell. The Leadenham players have been performing in the village hall here for the past 25 years.

The Royal Flying Corps built an airfield nearby on the top of the hill to the east in 1916, [ [http://raf-lincolnshire.info/leadenham/leadenham.htm RAF-lincolnshire.info :: Leadenham ] ] but it closed in 1919. [ [http://oldairfields.fotopic.net/c979539.html Lincolnshire. RFC Leadenham ] ]

Leadenham Players

The Leadenham Players are an amateur dramtics group based in Leadenham. They have been performing pantomimes and other shows for 25 years. Often, the traditional pantomimes such as Jack and the Beanstalk are scrapped for more unorthodox ones such as 'Dracula' and 'Up Pompeii'.

The Leadenham Pantomime is performed at the village hall every year in the last weekend of January and the first weekend of February.
