The Winnipeg Foundation

The Winnipeg Foundation is a registered Canadian charity based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It started in 1921 and is the oldest and second largest community foundation in Canada. In the 2004 fiscal year, the charity received roughly $41 million CAD in revenues, had roughly $16 million CAD in expenditures, and had an asset base of roughly $346 million CAD.

Randall Moffat, former president of Moffat Communications in 2001 gave a $100 million gift to The Winnipeg Foundation. To date, it is the largest ever given to a Canadian community foundation.
