Triyuginarayan

Triyugi Narayan is a scenic village located in Rudraprayag District, Uttarakhand. Triyuginarayan is around 12 km from Sonprayag on motorable road. It can also be reached by a short trek of 5 km from Sonprayag. Major point of attraction here is an old Vishnu temple, situated on the ancient bridle path that links Ghuttur with Kedarnath. The shrine resembles the temple of Kedarnath in architectural style and hence attracts a lot of devotees from far and near. Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund and Brahma Kund are other holy spots in the village. Legend says that Triyugi Narayan was the venue of the wedding between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. An eternal flame, which is believed to have been the witness of this marriage, burns in front of the temple and is never extinguished. The nearest airport is Dehra Dun, 244 km from Triyuginarayan, but it is better to start the journey from Delhi. Rishikesh is the nearest railway station, 261 km. from the site.
