John Moore (born 1970) is a
film director , producer, andwriter . Born inDundalk, Ireland , he went from directing commercials to making the $40 million motion picture "Behind Enemy Lines", and in 2006, directed a remake of Richard Donner's "The Omen ". Moore attended a technical college inDublin . He has stated that directors he admires who are working today includeRichard Donner andTony Scott .Moore has made three feature-length films: "The Omen", "Flight of the Phoenix", and "Behind Enemy Lines", all for
Twentieth Century Fox . Each movie has received mixed reviews; whilst at the box office,Behind Enemy Lines andThe Omen did modest business, whileFlight Of The Phoenix was a flop. He is reported to be involved with the upcoming "The Last Mission ", but it appears Fox has that project on hiatus. Moore was reportedly linked to direct at one point but was beaten byBrett Ratner and ended up making The Omen, which was also released by Fox in 2006. Moore is also slated to directMax Payne , a film spin-off of the popular videogame by the same title.Max Payne is now in post production and is slated for release October 2008.Filmography
