John Moore (director)

John Moore (director)

John Moore (born 1970) is a film director, producer, and writer. Born in Dundalk, Ireland, he went from directing commercials to making the $40 million motion picture "Behind Enemy Lines", and in 2006, directed a remake of Richard Donner's "The Omen". Moore attended a technical college in Dublin. He has stated that directors he admires who are working today include Richard Donner and Tony Scott.

Moore has made three feature-length films: "The Omen", "Flight of the Phoenix", and "Behind Enemy Lines", all for Twentieth Century Fox. Each movie has received mixed reviews; whilst at the box office, Behind Enemy Lines and The Omen did modest business, while Flight Of The Phoenix was a flop. He is reported to be involved with the upcoming "The Last Mission", but it appears Fox has that project on hiatus. Moore was reportedly linked to direct at one point but was beaten by Brett Ratner and ended up making The Omen, which was also released by Fox in 2006. Moore is also slated to direct Max Payne, a film spin-off of the popular videogame by the same title. Max Payne is now in post production and is slated for release October 2008.
