footnotes =Lipník nad Bečvou (IPA2|ˈlɪpɲi:k ˈnadbɛtʃvoʊ̯, German: "Leipnik") is a small town located in the
Olomouc Region , in the eastern part of theCzech Republic . The nearest larger towns arePřerov and Hranice, approximately ten to twelve kilometers (six to eight miles) distant.The town lies in the vicinity of the
castle Helfštýn , at the same level as Moravská brána. It is an ancient town with an extraordinary large square in the shape of the letter L and very interesting set of sights. The town may be proud of the well-established historical centre with aRenaissance town hall,baroque fountains and Renaissance houses with arcades. Just next to to the square, the James´ Parish Church with a uniquebell tower forms the view point of the square. Besides that, the Castle, the former piaristic monastery with the St.Francis´ Serafín church and thesynagogue are situated here. A numerous Jewish community lived here; two uniquecemeteries are the evidence of this.Leipnik is also an unusual surname which comes from the name of the townfact|date=January 2008.
