Game Storm

Game Storm is a fan-run annual gaming convention held in the spring in Oregon's Portland metro area.

History

[http://www.gamestorm.org GameStorm] started as a fan-run event, in 1998 at the Clackamas Denney's Convention Center. The GameStorm group often provides gaming programming at OryCon and other conventions in the Pacific Northwest as well, and has an extensive game library.

Game Storm provides a number of different activities for gaming fandom:

*Panel discussion topics, often with gaming industry professionals
*Role Playing Games (RPG)
*Live Action Role Playing (LARP)
*Miniatures
*Collectable Card Games (CGG)
*Board Games
*Card Games

The ninth GameStorm was 29 March - 1 April, 2007, at the Portland Airport Sheraton Hotel, with over 600 members.

GameStorm 10 is in the process of organizing, and is slated for a springtime date in 2008, with no handicap to a successful convention.

GameStorm, like OryCon, is fan-run, with no paid staff, and is sponsored by Oregon Science Fiction Conventions, Inc. (OSFCI), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation.
