Conformation

Conformation generally means structural arrangement and may refer to:

  • Carbohydrate conformation, the three-dimensional shape of a carbohydrate
  • Chemical structure, also called the chemical conformation, the spatial arrangement of atoms and chemical bonds in a molecule
  • Conformational isomerism, a form of stereoisomerism in which the isomers can be interconverted exclusively by rotations about formally single bonds.
  • Conformation activity relationship, the relationship between the biological activity and the conformation or conformational changes of a biomolecule
  • Conformation shows, dog shows in which dogs of a particular breed are judged according to how well they conform to the established breed type
  • Cyclohexane conformation, the three-dimensional shape of a cyclohexane molecule
  • Equine conformation, evaluates the degree of correctness of a horse's bone structure, musculature, and its body proportions
  • Protein conformation, the overall three-dimensional shape of a protein as determined by its folding
