This is a list of organisms that spend part of their life cycle or of which part of their anatomy is .

Plants

Semiaquatic plants are those whose roots are wholly or partly underwater.
* Mangrove, a type of woody tree or shrub growing in the "mangal" habitat, consisting of more than 50 species across 17 plant families
* members of the Taxodium genus of plants (Plantae:Pinophyta:Pinopsida...)
** Taxodium distichum also known as the swamp cypress or bald cypress
** Taxodium ascendens also known as the pond cypress
** Taxodium mucronatum also known as the Montezuma cypress or "Ahuehuete"
* members of the Alismatidae subclass of plants (Plantae:Magnoliophyta:Liliopsida:Alismatidae)

Animals

Semiaquatic animals are those that are primarily but that spend a large amount of time underwater, either as part of their life cycle or as an essential behavior (e.g. feeding). Some animals, such as the otter and polar bear, are not considered to be semi-aquatic but rather are referred to as marine mammals, alongside the dolphin, dugong, manatee, and Pinnipeds or seals.

***Elephants are the best swimmers of all land animals. They descended from pig-like animals. Although they are the largest land animal, that makes no difference in water. Their trunks make excellent snorkels, and their feet are in fact webbed. An elephants large body means that it loses heat much slower, giving it incredible stamina. One group of elephants is known to swim continuously for six hours, and another group to swim over a mile.
