homepage =KGMC channel 43, also known as C43, is an independent station serving the
San Joaquin Valley , which also features programming fromJewelry Television andAmerica One . The Station is owned byCocola Broadcasting , and is licensed toClovis, California .History
KGMC signed on the air in 1992 as an independent station, running religious programs, infomercials, and home shopping. In January 1995, the station began a
LMA withKMPH-TV Channel 26, owned byPappas . Pappas programmed the station from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. During these hours the station ran a blend of cartoons, classic sitcoms, old movies and also joined The WB. WB ran a couple hours of programming several nights a week as well as an hour a day of cartoons weekdays and several hours on Saturday mornings. Outside of the hours programmed by Pappas, KGMC continued to run religious shows, paid programming and home shopping. In the Winter of 1997, KGMC ended the agreement and in the process dropped The WB and general entertainment shows in favor of infomercials and religious shows 24/7. WB moved to KMPH with secondary affiliation and then to Channel 61 months later that summer, to Channel 51 in the summer of 1998, and then to Channel 59 in 2001. KGMC, however, joined America's Store in 1998. Today, KGMC is the only independent full power TV station out of the 12 stations operating in the Fresno TV Market.Channel 43 first operated in the Fresno/Visalia area as independent KICU-TV. The station went on the air in December 1961, only days after Fresno's first independent,
KAIL , channel 53 (nowMy Network TV ) took to the air. Channel 43 offered movies and other independent fare. Toward the end of its run, KICU also picked up some NBC programming not aired by that network's primary affiliate, KMJ-TV (nowKSEE-TV ). KICU-TV left the air in 1968 and the channel remained dark until KGMC-TV went on the air. TheKICU-TV call letters are now used for an independent station in San Jose.KGMC offers a rebroadcast of
KGPE CBS 47 news at 6 PM at 9 PM weeknights.A live simulcast of KGMC's programming can now be seen on the Cocola Broadcasting homepage.
