August 26 ,1973 inHouston, Texas ) is a formerAmerican Football center for theNational Football League Oakland Raiders where he played for nine seasons between 1995 to 2004. After playing forTexas Christian University , where he was a member ofPhi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was drafted by theOakland Raiders in the 2nd round. He became one the NFL's best centers, being elected to thePro Bowl in 2002 and 2003. While being the leader of the Raiders offensive line that led them toSuper Bowl XXXVII , he was kicked out by the Raiders after he went missing for most of the week before theSuper Bowl , and ended up in the hospital before the game because of hisbipolar disorder and depression.His name and those of several of his team members were found on the list of clients of the
Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative that had given performance-enhancing drugs toMarion Jones and others.On
January 15 ,2005 , Robbins was shot three times during a brawl with police inMiami Beach , and was subsequently charged withattempted felony-murder for his role. Under a plea agreement, Robbins pled guilty to five charges, including theattempted felony-murder charge, and was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to receive treatment for hisbipolar disorder , and to avoid alcohol.On
September 21 ,2007 , a warrant was issued for hisarrest by Miami-Dade police for a parole violation stemming from his run in with police in 2005.
