Goodleberg Cemetery is a cemetery located in Wales, New York and is noted as a site of paranormal activity. History

The cemetery stood relatively peacefully until the late 1990s, when word spread about ghost stories and ghastly apparitions. Various paranormal research organizations, intent on capturing the paranormal activies at Goodleberg paraded carloads of investigators from neighboring counties, intent on capturing evidence of the paranormal. To date, there has been one death, along with injuries and unexplained activities. Although the acusations of ghosts, the site is not been proven to be haunted

Folklore

Folklore has it that a Dr. Goodleberg had been performing illegal abortions then burying the unborn children and patients who did not survive the procedure behind his home located on a small hill overlooking the cemetery. A series of rain storms caused the pond behind the cemetery to flood, unearthing the remains of the unborn children and patients from their shallow graves. This was brought to the attention of the townspeople when neighbourhood dogs began to feast on the exposed remains.

It was believed that Dr. Goodleberg hung himself from the branch of one of the pine trees bordering the cemetery before he was brought to trial.

Ghost stories have been created over the years, including the appearance of apparitions of crawling infants and hell hounds, presumably both derived from the content of the lore. In recent years, it has been a site of frequent desecration. In the late 1990s, the grave of a small child was dug up for the purpose of a seance ritual.

Visiting

The haunted cemetary in Wales Newyork is a common place for paranormal activity. Orbs, smoke figures and more are the common event for the visitors. However visiting the cemetay is illegl for tresspassing many visit hoping to have a paranormal experience while there are the ungrsteful teenagers using the site to get "smashed". A doctor commonly known as Dr. Goodleburg (not the doctors real name, the name is commonly mistaken as this because Goodleburg is the road the cemetary is located on) Preformed abortions long ago and he had burried the fetuses in the grounds of goodleburg hill. Mothers who didnt survive the abortions were thrown into the pond on the grounds. The Dr. got away with these practices until the areas flooded from heavy rains and human remains were found by local dogs. The doctor later took his own life. Today the cemetary is full of old cracked and vandalized stones but the paranormal activity is great. Orbs and smoky figures, etc. are some of the things you can be sure to find in pictures after a visit here. Another phenomenom of Goodleburg cemetary is to find baby hand and foot prints on the dew of your vehicle. Although if you believe all this is true you are retarded, gootleburg is a waste of time and is not haunted.

Taking anything from the cemetary can turn to be fatal, people who have done this have gotten in serious accidents on the way home and deaths have occoured. The important thing to remember is to respect the dead and to NEVER take anything from the cemetary.
