Albany is served by two GPB channels, with
WACS-TV in Dawson as the other, but WABW is Albany's GPB station of record.History
WABW-TV signed on
January 2 ,1967 as part of the Georgia Educational Television Network. It was the seventh educational television station in Georgia.WABW's digital signal has not signed on yet and is slated to operate on channel 5 and transmit from the WCTV tower near the Georgia-Florida border. This digital signal will target Valdosta, Thomasville, Bainbridge, and Tallahassee. Albany will be served by WACS in Dawson.
