Vampira is the sixth track of Synchestra by The Devin Townsend Band.

Devin's Notes On The Song

Just before the album leaked onto the internet Devin Townsend posted the story behind the record on his internet forums. This is what he wrote about Vampira:

"Vampira - The single, the attention getter for those who don't have the patience for the whole thing, but as such serves a definite purpose. It's essentially about overdramatizing the negative aspects of life, a real fop-ish 'woe is me' attitude, personifying the dark aspects of the reality of a current situation as an entity named 'Vampira'. A Judas Priest-esque rocker that is supposed to be a comedic version of the SYL energy.'Night...follows me when you're gone, and now...how am I to carry on?'A parody of that side."

Vampira as a single

"Vampira" is the first single off the record. A video has been made, and first saw the light of day March 17, 2006. It is a horror comic parody that features Devin as a devil and the band as living skeletons performing in a cemetery.
