Henry Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Beaulieu

Henry John Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Beaulieu DL JP (5 November 1832 – 4 November 1905) was a British Conservative Party politician.

The second son of the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry and Charlotte Anne, daughter of the 2nd Marquess of Bath. In 1865 he married Hon. Cecily Susan Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, daughter of the 2nd Baron Wharncliffe, and the couple had two sons and one daughter. He was educated at Eton College and served as Conservative Member of Parliament for Selkirkshire from 1861–1868 and for South Hampshire from 1868–1884. He was official Verderer of the New Forest from 1890–1892, and was Honorary Colonel of the 4th Hampshire Rifle Volunteers from 1885.

In 1885 he was raised to the peerage as 1st Baron Montagu of Beaulieu.

His daughter the Hon Rachel Cecily Douglas-Scott-Montagu was the wife of Henry Forster, 1st Baron Forster, Governor-General of Australia 1920-25.
