AgFirst, Farm Credit Bank based in Columbia, South Carolina, part of the Farm Credit System lending to Farm Credit Services organizations serving Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia. AgFirst, like other Farm Credit Banks, generates funds from selling bonds backed by the federal government. It does not lend directly to borrowers, but to 23 farmer-owned Agricultural Credit Associations (ACAs), serving 80,000 borrowers.
