Notable_instruments =Armed n Dangerous, (also referred to as A n D) was an American
thrash metal band formed in late1988 inLansdowne, Pennsylvania , a suburb ofPhiladelphia , by popsinger ,composer , producer Khanoda “Gus” Squillace and bassist and composer E. Patrick. A n D’s members were Brandon Rafferty onvocals and leadguitar , Mark Kolczhec onguitar s, E. Patrick on bass, and Khanoda ondrum s. Armed n Dangerous released one album titled SCUM onJanuary 24 ,1989 (see1989 in music ). Although Khanoda wasn't the vocalist for the band, he wrote or co-wrote the songs for the album. The band quickly dissolved following its release, however, due to its founding members’ constant in-fighting and tumultuous antics and outbursts on stage. One such incident occurred during a show in February 1989 at J.C. Dobbs (now the Pontiac Grille) on South Street in Philadelphia when Patrick hurled his bass over Khanoda’s head during a musical miscue antagonized by Khanoda himself which lead to a fist fight between the two in the middle of South Street.Following the breakup of both the band and Khanoda and Patrick, A n D was offered a recording deal from Road Runner Records; no one who was part of the band was interested to get back together.
Since the breakup of A n D, Rafferty and Kolczhec have remained in contact with each other and have continued to be involved in music, producing local artists and teaching, respectively. Patrick left music in 1991 after a failed attempt at forming a grunge band with Rafferty whom he remains in contact. Patrick now works in the medical field and lives in Delaware County with his wife and two daughters. Khanoda has enjoyed continued success as an independent artist. His last album, a mock hits collection entitled,
klosure. DISPOSABLE KLASSIX AND OTHER POTENTIAL FAILURES (1988 – 1998) released in November1998 (see1998 in music ), has sold more than 100,000 copies and has become an underground favorite amongst the IDM and new music set throughout the United States and Europe. Khanoda’s next album,Fever +Fetish is due out in November 2006. Khanoda has not spoken to any of his former band mates since 1989.Other Khanoda related articles
