The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC) is located at 140 Pearl Street in downtown
Framingham, Massachusetts over theDanforth Museum .PAC's board of directors, staff, and faculty are deeply committed to promoting
cultural education in the community. They believe the performing arts are a critical outlet for self-expression, individual achievement and lifelong intellectual development. PAC's charitable mission is to bring qualityeducational programs to the greater community, and to work with othernon-profit organizations to build a supportivesocial network for arts education.PAC is a fully accredited member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts and serves hundreds of students each year with private lessons, public performances, and a broad range of course offerings in dance, drama, music, etc.
PAC Family Players
The PAC Family Players produces three musicals a year; two by audition and one workshop production in the summer. Recent shows include "The King and I", "Holiday Revelry IV", "High School Musical", and "Aladdin Jr." In December 2006, the PAC Family Players partnered with Framingham Community Theatre to put on a multi-generational holiday extravaganza, the third annual "Holiday Revelry". Shows are performed in the historic Framingham Civic League auditorium, with smaller shows and recitals in PAC's performance hall.
The Children's Garden
Ed Morgan's The Children's Garden is for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their parents. Sing, dance, and shake away! No reservations or advance tickets necessary. Every Friday morning from 10 to 11 in PAC's spacious, family-friendly performance hall.
Private Lessons
PAC has a staff of professional music teachers offering violin, piano, guitar (both private and group), saxophone, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, drums, and voice. During the school year, lessons are offered in two 16-week semesters; over the summer, one 6-week session. Music lessons are available for students of all ability levels and ages.
Dance
Aside from offering courses in belly dancing, tap, capoeira, and dance therapy, PAC also has its own adult dance troupe - Moving West Repertory Dance Theater. Founded in 1998 by Lynne Johnson Grynkewicz, Moving West's mission is to "create, produce and perform diverse contemporary danceworks which foster artistic collaboration."
