"Being Somebody" is the second album recorded and released by British pop vocal group Liberty X, released in the UK on November 3, 2003 via V2 Records. The album reached a relatively disappointing number 12 on the official UK album chart and spawned three UK Top 20 hits with the singles "Being Nobody", "Jumpin'" and "Everybody Cries". The album sold considerably less compared with the band's debut. Total sales reached 200,000 copies domestically. The album was released worldwide, meeting a small amount of success in Asia and Europe. Due to the performance of this album, however, Liberty X abandoned plans for further releases in the American music market. One major criticism of the album was its length and content. At 17 tracks, it was considerably longer then pop albums released by similar acts at this time. It was also attacked for including a large number of ballads, most notably "Maybe" and "The Poet", distancing themselves from their favoured R&B sound. "The Poet" was later covered by X-Factor finalist Maria Lawson, for her self-titled debut album.
