List of flagship vehicles by manufacturer

A flagship vehicle is the most prestigious vehicle in the line-up of an auto marque. The vehicles are the highest ranking in the company's line-up and represent the marque's image as well, usually serving as the representation of the marque's most iconic design and engineering philosophies. These vehicles are usually the most expensive and often the most prestigious vehicles in the line-up. There are exceptions, however, the Ford Taurus is not Ford's most expensive car (the Ford Crown Victoria and a number of the Ford F-Series are more costly), nonetheless the Taurus is considered the flagship car. Likewise, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class retains its flagship status though it has been narrowly exceeded in price by the CL.
